The dance industry is unregulated in the UK, meaning there are no statutory governing bodies like in school, football or gymnastics. While organisations such as the EADA, ISTD, NATD, and CDMT exist, membership is voluntary.
At Crystal Academy, we go above and beyond best practices by ensuring our insurances and policies are checked and approved by local councils and safeguarding boards.
We are proud members of:
✅ English Amateur Dance Association (EADA) – a recognised dance governing body.
✅ Staffordshire Council of Voluntary Youth Services (SCVYS).
✅ We have worked alongside County, Local, and Parish Councils, as well as Crime Commissioners to support youth and community initiatives.

✔️ Our staff are either qualified or highly experienced in delivering safe and structured classes.
💪 While we take every precaution to ensure safety, injuries can and do happen, particularly in higher-risk disciplines such as Acrobatics and Aerial Hoop. These activities are physically demanding and require strength, resilience, and commitment. They are not for the faint-hearted—progress takes hard work, perseverance, and a strong mindset.
🎥 Photos & videos may be taken for marketing purposes on our social media channels. If you wish to opt out, simply inform reception or your class teacher before class. This will mean that no participation in competition teams, events or showcases will be viable.
👩🏫 Our lead staff actively complete safeguarding CPD. Both Jason and Kirsty have experience working in Mainstream & SEN settings.
📜 Our safeguarding policies are approved by Staffordshire County Council.
🎭 During shows, all necessary documentation is shared well in advance.
🔹 As an SCVYS member, we ensure all required checks are in place when working with young people.
🌟 Crystal Academy is a Community Interest Company dedicated to helping children and young people unlock their potential. We promote healthy inclusion through competitions & showcases, helping students break barriers and build confidence.
✅ All policies are reviewed and updated annually. You have signed all these through our membership link.
